Ugh just had to switch Intelligent Octopus off..
I just came back from a long trip down to 10% and plugged in as I normally would. Octopus selected a 10 hour charge - 4 hours at peak rate with no option to reduce it. Nice little earner for them.. Luckily I saw the news on social media.. many customers wouldn't.
So I've had to switch it off and set manual schedules overnight as I just can't trust it, or indeed even begin to calculate what it cost me if I let Octopus control it.

@tony sorry what's the change here? I have been offline for a bit, and I didn't get any notification from Octopus.

@andypiper They have said that any IOG charging over 6 hours will be charge at peak rate (49.61p) - more expensive than going to a public charger!
Effectively it means you never want IOG to allocate a charge period outside the normal overnight because it will cost you a lot more - the simplest way to achieve this is to switch the intelligent part off.
I didn't get any notification either but they're already doing it..

@tony ah! thanks for that - I'll have a poke between Kia / myEnergi / IOG and see what is getting configured (which is usually confusing in the first place!) 😬
