@hannah I love these eclectic old howto books that cover everything from adding a couple knife-guides to your cutting board for nicely sliced bread, to how to build a new house.

A modern book would be more focused, but back then they tried to be comprehensive, and it kind of wound up being a collection of whatever the author thought of.
