For #ONI the no fuss single user #ActivityPub service, I wanted to migrate from my custom hodge-podge of JavaScript logic for building CSS themes from images, to something a little more credentialed and battle tested.
Then I looked over what the Material library would generate and I begun to reconsider.
Material is so unsipired, it defaults to such samey, generic norm-core color palettes that it's difficult to see any changes even between vastly different images.
I think I'll just improve my own algorithm because, frankly, I want more GeoCities and less Enterprise.

Generate a palette from one, two colours? Preferably with a JavaScript library.

@mariusor I really like the micro theme standard that @neauoire made for their family of apps https://github.com/hundredrabbits/Themes thou it might be too simple for your needs. I think Fedilab also supports some sort of sharable theme system maybe it could be reused

@julian yes. BadgeFed has an API. But the concept is really simple, it is a Note (or Document) that has an attachment. The attachment is a property of the ActivityPub object usually used for videos or images. In this case the attachment includes a full OpenBadge object.
The only restriction is that the Note attributed (activitypub actor) MUST be the url in the OpenBadge issuer (issuer = actor). Also the recipient url from the OpenBadge SHOULD be mentioned in the Note.
With this simple mechanism you can pretty much create a compatible badge that can be decentralized with BadgeFed.

@mapache@hachyderm.io from what I understand you're using the ActivityPub note for compatibility. I wonder if a custom object type might open more doors.

Does BadgeFed have an API to create new badges? Or fetch badges?
