@wohali Has he tried with the usual websites, like immobiliare.it? It has interesting features such as search by map area, and alerts when a new place following your requests comes up

he was about to close on a place a few weeks ago for 900âŹ, then a 500⏠deposit, then then they wanted to charge an extra month of rent in fees, and an agency fee, and more fees on top of that and he couldn't afford it đą

@wohali@timeloop.cafe @_elena@mastodon.social @tommi@pan.rent A lot of the best deals here go by word of mouth, so if he is moving there for a job or similar it may also be worth asking any local contacts. It's far more acceptable here to both ask for and recieve help with this type of thing from 'professional' contacts than it can be in the some parts of the UK.â

I know it's not right in your stomping grounds but I don't have many contacts "up North"

Fedi, a good friend needs to find a place to live in Padua (Padova), Italy. He has citizenship, but doesn't speak the language well. He's not wealthy but he's able to afford a small place. He's currently in the UK.
Can anyone help me find him a letting agent or any other source where he can view and apply to rent an apartment? He's tried calling a couple of places to no avail.
Fedi update: He's willing to look anywhere in Italy now -- suggestions welcome. (He was interested in that area because his family is from there, but no one is left there now.)
