@FarmingWarMech On mastodon there is a lot of "I know better than you" or "let me say what you just said but different" type of replies. And those are gettiting kinda tiresome.
I think the Mastodon developers are working on per-post reply controls and that will curb mansplainers at large. I hope that gets added soon.
I do love getting replies however, especially when they are empathetic.

@afreytes @FarmingWarMech I feel called out by that, hahaha 😅 I feel like I do that extremely often, even though I think I got called out on it just once...

@KFears @FarmingWarMech I feel that, especially of Mastodon, people are very eager to be helpful. I love that.
But not every post is a problem to be solved. Not every post needs "a solution".
I myself did not understand this before I was on Mastodon. And so I have been more purposeful when I post. So that when I need an answer I will very clearly ask for suggestions or answers.
But...

@KFears @FarmingWarMech almost always when I post something like, "ficking ABC sucks whenever I try to XYZ"
I just want to know that ABC also sucks for other people. Or that BCD sucks in a similar way. Or that, "ABC never worked for me so I switched to LMN"
But some people go like, "Trying to XYZ on ABC is dumb when LMN exists." And the judgement in the reply makes it odious for me. Especially because I most probably tried BCD and LMN but they didn't do everything that ABC does.
