SALLY STRUTHERS: Do you use floats? Sure. We all do. But did you know a + b + c ≠ c + b + a with many floats? No. Well, neither did I, but with this one PDF you can become a fount of floating-point foibles to impress and depress your colleagues around the water cooler. Isn't this fun?

2/ SALLY STRUTHERS: Got a list of positive floating points you need sorted? Don't let that O(n log n) runtime get you down. Did you know you can lexicographically sort floats by their binary representation? Now you can do it O(n) with radix sort. Won't that impress your boss? [Gulps.]

@shanecelis as someone inclined to write the occasional "look at what they need to mimic a fraction" blog post myself, this is the most "stop doing math"-ass paper I've ever seen

@iswyrm eh! Ma io e te lo sappiamo, sono gli altri che non si convincono. Se in ufficio provo solo a spostare una icone di Word da destra a sinistra sulla barra, l'ufficio si blocca. Ho provato a togliere Chrome e mettere Brave a qualche parente/amico e a momenti mi tolgono la parola 😃 No, troppo difficile cambiare in corsa, sono convinto che bisogna partire dalla scuola a cambiare.

Looking back at 2025 I can't help but feel an immense sense of gratitude towards the fediverse.
I found so many friends and lovely communities on here. I feel part of a rebel alliance, working towards the goal of creating a better internet - and resisting broligarchs.
This year I made a stock photo for the fediverse and an introductory video. I hope I can find MANY new ways to support the good cause in 2026.
