@cwebber I think the individual-initiative part of the "nothing about us without us" ethos is that people who believe and want to live like that seek out places where they're a part of the us and can feel like they're genuinely helping shape the about thing.

Anyway one nice takeaway while preparing for this talk is that something I love about fedi:
People are not willing to give up ethics in exchange for tech trends, and people here want to be engaged on really actually building a better world in a participatory way
I will try to carry that into my talk <3

i don't think anyone hears this, but i've been writing software and writing about it on my blog for the last couple of years.
it takes a while to reboot things. hope people don't just miss the internet, but will help bring it back.

@EUCommission я родом из Крыма и был рад тому, что до нас не доехал "поезд дружбы", который не сулил нам ничего хорошего, из-за того, что нам угрожали за то, что русская культура нам ближе.
Но вряд-ли кого-то из запада когда-либо интересовало чего хотел простой народ в Крыму
