The support for #MathML in browser is often poor. The fact that instead of improving it the developers seem to be instead pressuring the standard bodies to impoverish the language only makes this worse.
(I am aware of #MathJax. We shouldn't need a heavy-duty #JavaScript library to solve typesetting problems. That's exactly what browser engines are there fore.)
I weep for the status of scientific publishing in the modern world.
(This rant is offered by my experience looking for options to make the SPHERIC newsletter available both in PDF and in HTML form. I don't even need complex math usually,, we try to avoid it in contributions because it's hard to typeset math outside of the TeX world. But the fact that in 2026 online the only safe way seems to be to typeset everything manually or rely on huge JavaScript libraries is a little depressing.)

TerminalPhone is a single, self-contained Bash script that provides anonymous, end-to-end encrypted voice and text communication between two parties over the Tor network. It operates as a walkie-talkie: you record a voice message, and it is compressed, encrypted, and transmitted to the remote party as a single unit. You can also send encrypted text messages during a call. No server infrastructure, no accounts, no phone numbers. Your Tor hidden service .onion address is your identity.

Building the Haxocorder
The Haxophone is an open source MIDI saxophone project that has achieved some popularity. It’s caught the attention of [Shieladixon] not because she is a saxophonist but because she plays the recorder and is dissatisfied with existing MIDI recorder peripherals. She’s set about modifying the device to produce the Haxocorder, a better MIDI recorder.
The video below the break is the third of a series, of which part one and part two deal with the Haxophone and the shortcomings of her existing recorder peripheral. She’s replacing the Pi Zero of the Haxophone with a Pi Pico in a Zero form factor, and simplifying its design significantly to remove unnecessary features. The result is a versatile instrument capable at a touch of becoming the full range of recorders, which she demonstrates with some nifty duet work.
The upstream Haxophone project can be found here if you are interested, and we hope she follows this up with a release of her mods to make the Haxocorder. Meanwhile if you feel you might have seen her work before, she’s the brains behind the MIDISID.
