@GrapheneOS awesome! Go #Motorola

@alexia @GrapheneOS sad, I was hoping Motorola Signature, the Razrs (Fold and Flip) will make the cut at the very least.
@skywalker2k17 @alexia They're close but don't have hardware memory tagging usable in production and we aren't willing to lose it. It will be the next generation of those devices supporting GrapheneOS.

@GrapheneOS Aaaand buying a used Pixel is off now. HYPED!
@blindcoder It will be 2027 so you might still want to buy an older Pixel to use GrapheneOS in the meantime.

@GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social I've loved the feature set that GrapheneOS provides, even if security isn't my primary focus, and I look forward to replacing my sorta languishing Pixel 7a with a device when they are available!

This is great news, now convince my banks to develop their mobile applications for Graphene OS and I think I found my new phone....
@oscarfalcon @GrapheneOS They really only need to not block GrapheneOS via Google's play integrity or other flawed "security solutions". You can verify the authenticity of a GrapheneOS installation via the hardware attestation api, some banks have already done this and officially support GrapheneOS today. Others are sure to follow as the user base keeps growing and it becomes impossible to ignore.

@GrapheneOS This is awsome.
-
@Guillotine_Jones You'll need a new device since their current devices and upcoming 2026 devices don't meet our requirements. It will be 2027.
@GrapheneOS
Thank YOU, GrapheneOS, for taking the time to respond to my query.
Now I have even more reasons to like you guys and to be interested in your work and products. -

@GrapheneOS Hope this is the start of collaborating with phone manufacturers to create all kinds of GrapheneOS compatible devices.

@GrapheneOS This deserves a "GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!"
Also, will it be possible to load Graphene on my own? In case Motorola pushes some bloatware I don't want :-D

@GrapheneOS @skywalker2k17 @alexia I am ready for an upgrade.. Wish a repairable phone was an option. Due to the fact the only thing wrong with my phone is the charge port on my pixel 7.
-
Will they be repair friendly, have physical kill switches, and removable batteries?
@0c45d7d45edb0fadda4215d36ca0d9aba0c771b85d3717764b8a128d5e443e4d @GrapheneOS I'd settle for anyone ONE of those. Haha

@GrapheneOS I tried doing some searching online and I couldnt determine if Pixels have open source firmware? Idk how realistic to hope that these collab devices will have at least source available firmware.
Also, do you know what the expected EOL timeframe for these new devices will be? Can we expect something on par to the Pixel 8? With advancements in hardware security (eg. the development of MTE) is it even worth holding onto a phone for a 7 year lifespan?
