It's OK to want Bluesky to be better. Just be honest that it's not very good. Like, it's not a very good product and the protocol has made a lot of promises to a lot of people it's just not delivering.
I'm not mad at people who like Bluesky. I'm mad at the people who gaslight me trying to convince me it's a well-designed and well-executed product when it's actually not. If I didn't "have" to, I'd never use Bluesky because…it's just not very good. C'mon.

@jaredwhite That account is confusing things. Nothing is "banned". They're using the hive product to label images and that's it (no AI is trained on the images).
The main issue is that Bluesky sucks at communicating anything properly; they should just have a document that lays this out clearly.

@thomasfuchs I don't think anyone is suggesting the images are being ingested as training data by Hive… More about the lack of disclosure, after apparently a big community stink about Hive in general not so long ago

@jaredwhite I mean the leadership really never talks to the users of the site unless it's to punch down on them

@jaredwhite @thomasfuchs agree. Meanwhile Rudy Fraser - the founder of Blacksky - deserves an award for his excellent communication during the current moderation crisis: https://blacksky.community/profile/did:plc:w4xbfzo7kqfes5zb7r6qv3rw/post/3m2n62lo6v22p
