@Corb_The_Lesser @alfiekohn It was hard to part with FB: I had some friends there from the other side of the world and FB was helpful to stay in contact. Also my goups were lovely. But unfortunately enshittification and Zuckerbergs greed ruined it all and made it unbearable to stay there.

@alfiekohn to be fair, I only use Signal to chat with Fedi folks, the only way to stop WhatsApp here is to Meta to stop supporting the service or it getting blocked. Then people will migrate to the unencrypted Telegram.

This should give everybody the willies. It does me.

I'm currently on my third suspension in as many months from Facebook, and the recovery (to "prove I'm a human", as if I suddenly stopped being one) now requires interaction with video. I joked before that it was biometric training. Now I'm not so sure it is a joke. Always seems to happen when I remark adversely to Trump or Israel in Gaza.
