OT but even as a FLOSS aficionado I really like how aseprite manages the whole licensing and source thing. It's source-available, so you can (AFAICS) build it yourself, although you cannot redistribute such a build. A purchase gets you binaries for all supported platforms (including a Steam key), plus tech support, and updates at least until the next major version. I like that attitude.
@eniko I look forward to the distant future where Photoshop has an Aseprite keybinding emulation because they had to kowtow to the dominant tooling paradigm.

One of the newest weapons that scientists have developed against #cancer is a type of engineered #immune cell known as #CAR-NK (natural killer) cells. @thegaffer @pluralistic The shooting sports community has been working for years to do something similar, replacing the term "accidental discharge" with "negligent discharge" to reflect the fact that barring extremely rare mechanical malfunctions, guns don't just go off on their own.If it fires without you intending, it's because you were doing something stupid and dangerous like having it loaded when you shouldn't have, leaving your finger on the trigger, etc.So just like with a significant number of car crashes, it's not an accident it's negligent behavior on the part of the operator. This sort of terminology should become more prevalent in general.
@jackyan I have to admit, I don't know all the names, and they were marketed under different names in North America. The model info on my vehicle id plaque is D21FH, where I guess the F stands for "Familiale". Anyway, it's a station wagon or estate car, or "break" in French.
