@AlisonW @sundogplanets I think the primary use use case for a ‘Server in Space’ is for Tax Avoidance. Think Cayman Islands, but in orbit. You probably don’t need much power cooling compute to stand up something that can be registered as an orbital tax haven for corporations to use.

Jersey,Guernsey etc in UK Channel Islands getting more scrutiny. Bahamas no longer okay since the Alameda Research scandals. The floating cruiseschip cities didn't sail well. So what's next? Space! @sundogplanets There is a story by Stanislav Lem where he mentioned a scale based on the radio signals received from a planet. IIRC at a certain point, the orbital waste becomes intelligent and tries to enslave the planets civilization. The planets inhabitants fight back so the waste sends interfering radio signals to disturb communication on the planet. This signal was one the last steps on the scale.
