I am not quite sure what you are saying the generalities about people's intelligence, but that sounds like some serious boomer logic.
We will have to disagree. I believe privacy is a human right. I also believe community safety is a shared responsibility. Pseudonyms are a legitimate privacy tool for many people, including victims, not just a mask for trash talk. Accountability comes from community standards and moderation, not from demanding people surrender their digital privacy.
Being capable of self defense doesn't mean a community should tolerate harassment. We should only allow the culture we want to build. Decent spaces require active maintenance from everyone, not just those being targeted.
You mentioned ICE, so lets address that: The problem with ICE isn't just that they hide their faces, it is that they are public servants serving the people while hiding their faces. The situation changes when it is a private citizen trying to protect themselves.
It isn't being a hero or whatever, it is doing what is right and making sure this space doesn't turn into a trash fire.
This is a topic I am not looking for a debate. Either be a decent person on this platform or GTFO.

I think lighting a fire under a bunch of vigilante-rescue-rangers ends up making a bigger mess than we started with.@donhawkins @terminaltilt Societies are group activities. A "you look after your own and I'll look after mine" attitude is, by definition, antisocial. If you're so disinterested in society, and people in general, don't pick fights. It doesn't help anyone, rather reinforces prejudices of the author, the audience, and makes you sound foolish. Causing someone to sling mud doesn't prove the world is a sewer, only that you cause it to be so when you appear. That's a weird power to exercise. So long!

If you see a person harassing another person, you intervene. You dont think about gender roles for one second. This is how solidarity functions. It is not limited to gender, to race, even to species. We live, therefore we take care. Animals who think and speak different than us can do it. We take example.

I completely agree. My specific mention of gender was a call to address a common, visible pattern of harassment (which I did witness earlier today and too often), but the goal is absolutely a safer space for everyone, across all lines. Solidarity is the only way we keep these communities human.

Lose the pseudonym logins. Just the way ICE assholes hide their identity behind a mask … pseudonym logins allow freaks to talk trash from their mom’s basement that they wouldn’t otherwise.

Wow, you sure are exemplifying the problem dude.Also, non-pseudonym posting is specifically dangerous for a lot of people, that's just an ignorant suggestion on the face of it. Anonymous assholes can still be blocked; doxxing yourself just makes it easier for those same assholes to harass you irl.
