    Cette partie la marche super !

    Maintenant, j’aimerais que quand je cherche l’url de ma note sur mastodon, ça redirige vers l’url du toot.

    Je cherche avec les mots clef :
    .well-known/webfinger
    rel="canonical"
    rel="alternate" type="application/activity+json"

    mais je ne trouve pas grand-chose et mes tests ne marchent pas…

    Est‑ce que vous avez déjà vu ce genre de redirection sur un site ?

    cc

  • @macgirvin that's interesting, I hadn't thought of using punycode. Like @edent@mastodon.social my exposure to it was strictly limited to domains (and even then only to counter domain spoofing)

  • @edent@mastodon.social -- It's also used for the username component of email addresses iirc; as these are originally also specified as 7-bit US-ASCII. So I convert local usernames with idn. Just something I did out of habit really. You can use UTF-8 if you want, so I'm only saying that punycode seems to federate better based on my experience. We tested this with a bunch of fediverse software at the time and it just worked. We'll accept either.

    I thought Punycode was only for domain names. Are you saying you also use it for the user part?

  • @edent@mastodon.social -- I've just tested and that account also works fine with Hubzilla. I will mention that your implementation in this case uses url-encoded usernames while ours uses punycode. They should be able to interact just fine, but the fact that there are multiple ways to arrive at a solution could cause a bit of confusion for implementers.

    You'll need to use punycode if you wish to federate with the diaspora protocol or email or any other projects or protocols which restrict the character set for usernames. So it might end up being a more flexible solution in the long run and should work fine with every other fediverse project today. ASCII-restricted software will just use the xn-- name; and all their links and buttons should work fine.

    Url-encoding should also work, but perhaps not so universally and easily as punycode; as witnessed by the number of issues documented in this thread.

  • @apps look @julian isn't this sorta what you were just talking about with hashtag combining schemes

    Yes, that would really help. I will set the priority in the Weblate project for the part used to understand tags inside messages. Thank you for your continuous support on projects :)

  • @edent@mastodon.social -- Just looked again... this was first introduced as a hidden feature in redmatrix around 2013-2014, and so may also be available currently in Hubzilla (behind the "system.unicode_usernames" feature toggle). There were some major changes in 2019 that to my knowledge weren't ever backported. I think these only applied to local usernames and not remote usernames, but the functionality in hubzilla still might need to be verified.

  • The map combines community reports from the and shelters and veterinaries from loaded in real time as you zoom in.
    PawFed is built to be a community project, not a one person effort. There will be many ways to contribute beyond posting reports.
    If you find the project useful, don't hesitate to share it. Thank you. (3/3)

    Up until today, when you queried a NodeBB user or category's outbox, you would receive an empty OrderedCollection. This was done because the property's inclusion in the actor object was required, but it was not immediately apparent in 2024 how many people utilised this property. Thus it was easier to just send the empty outbox and pursue more urgent functionality. While sending that empty outbox has not broken any implementations, but it has come to my attention that a few (read: more than 1) other implementors already do, or plans to, read from an actor outbox for backfill purposes. The upcoming NodeBB v4.10.0 will contain an outbox populated by the contributions by that user or category. Here's how that works... For both users and categories, a standard OrderedCollection is returned, with first, last, prev, and next properties for navigation. For users: A combined set of the user's activity is returned in the form of activities (Create, Like, etc.) — these activities include the user's posts, votes (both up and down), and shares. Unlike other collections, this one uses a cursor. You can pass ?before= or ?after= values in the query string to retrieve items 20 at a time. For categories: A set of posts curated by this category is shown. It can contain both posts local to the instance, and remote posts from outside of the instance. All posts are wrapped in the Announce activity. If the post is local, it is an Announce(Create(Note/Article)), if it is a remote post, then it is just an Announce(Object) by reference. This collection is paged like other collections served by NodeBB. It is possible that this implementation serves data in an unexpected manner. If this is the case, please reply here to contact me directly so it can be fixed. I used my best judgement for what to include in the outboxes, as well as using Piefed as a reference implementation. @rimu@piefed.social, I notice that Piefed's community outboxes serve up Announce(Create(Page)) even if the Page is not local to the instance. I was under the assumption that remote content couldn't (shouldn't?) be expanded in this manner because you cannot guarantee the integrity of the data, and so announcing the object by reference is preferred. Just wondering your thoughts on that.

    I'm against banning social media for under 16's. Just outright banning doesn't make something unavailable - just unregulated and not monitored. Alcohol and vapes are still common among under 16's - especial those that are vulnerable. I am for under 16's not being allowed on corporate socials though - as they are toxic places which do provably screw with brain development in youth - because of that algorithmic nature. I am considering pitching an idea to a local established non-profit that I sometimes work with, who run a number of local youth clubs across the region. It is an idea of setting up a fediverse instance for 11-15 year olds. An account can only be made in person alongside being a member of a youth club -with parent / guardian consent. It will not be federated to the general social web, and begin as a self-contained bubble - but with the idea of other regions creating the same thing and federating together. It would be moderated by the same volunteers / employees that run the youth clubs and social services - who are fully vetted, and follow the protocols - which already also includes moderating each other. Perhaps even somehow make it so the kids can't post on it during school hours, and after, perhaps, 10pm? There would of course be a set of standards expectations, or community codes of conduct, like here in the Fedi. Perhaps also running regular fun things too, that get kids thinking creatively (like what happens at the clubs anyway). There are of course many many issues with this idea, and I can't see it actually happening just like that. Not only is there unlikely the right fedi project to accommodate needs, but things like the online safety act potentially blocking the ability to create safe community based social networks for youth. And I'm sure there are many other issues as to why this idea might not work either. Like, what happens when someone turns 16? Are they just kicked off? However, I do know that corporate socials are bad - but not providing good safe alternatives when attempting to protect children, actually makes them more vulnerable and unsafe. We need a way to embrace them, not outcast them.#socialban #socialmedia #fediverse #activitypub #youthwork #onlinesafety

    @julian i'd say the confusion is primarily that we've shifted topic around several different things and i'm still not sure which is the intended topic of the discussion :x- deleting posts that are in a thread- removing posts from a thread- implications for downstream posts in a thread when some ancestor in the reply chain is deleted/removed- deleting a thread that is in a forum- removing a thread from a forum- moving a thread to the "uncategorized" forum- ...?
