    Yay! My #Mastodon trifecta is now complete! My blue & orange (is it orange‽) #Plushtodon came in last night, & I opened it yesterday, but I was too tired to post about it as I just got off work. But yes, I am excited that the two smaller Plushes arrived! Thanks @Mastodon for creating these!Also…we need more #ActivityPub apps to create real world wearables or plushies, as they are great conversation starters for folks who are not familiar with the #Fediverse.

    One of the long-standing issues we have in/on the fediverse is that when I have a link in my post that goes to another post on my instance, people on other instances will click that link and be taken to MY instance, where they can't comment, don't have an account, aren't logged in, etc and they will try to log in using their login credentials for their home instance then wonder why it doesn't work. When someone links to https://lemmy.world/post/39832275 and I'm on piefed.social I want to see https://piefed.social/c/news/p/1544770/national-parks-ordered-to-check-gift-shops-for-dei-type-items not the copy on lemmy.world! As of PieFed v1.4, links like that will automatically be converted to link to the local copy of the post, where 'local' is whatever is local for the reader. See the linked video where I demonstrate this in action.

    I'm working on federation issues.👻 Release v3.1.2 of Ktistec improves support for Lemmy and community servers like it that distribute content by wrapping it in Announce activities (FEP-1b12: Group federation support). Ktistec also supports the audience property, although support for that was removed from Lemmy earlier this year.🎃 This release also adds support for delivering to shared inboxes, which are widely supported by other ActivityPub servers. Despite being federated, the Fediverse is not highly distributed, and this optimization can reduce outbound delivery traffic by 10-20x.AddedSupport for the Dislike activity.Support for the audience property on activities and objects.Support for delivery to shared inboxes.Support for full-width hash signs in hashtags (e.g. ＃日本語) commonly used in Japanese and other Asian languages.FixedStrip HTML from object summaries rather than escaping it.Properly unwrap Lemmy-style Announce activities.ChangedDestroy discarded drafts instead of deleting them.Enjoy!#ktistec #fediverse #activitypub #crystallang
