@selzero Aldi is Chicago based, and I think they understand both what it means to run a business, and to get stores into food deserts.

I take what the pharmacists puts in the bag.

After that, I pretty much make everything else, go local, or used. I get a four-gallon stock of ethanol every couple of years, you can't get anything but Arm & Hammer baking soda anymore, I got my beeswax from a local beekeeper, my seeds from our farmers' market....

My Fudeball pens are Japanese? Ikea?

Here is something oddly specific, but there are a lot of really good Japanese brands for stationary, pencils, and just really specifically tailored and well-thought out planners.

I don’t remember the brands too well but If you’ve got a Kinokuniya or a Maido or any store that sells Japanese stationary and pens, I’d go for the mechanical pencils with <0.5 mm lead. I believe the brand is uni, but there are others.

Or the bendable ring notebooks that you can fold like a spiral notebook, but open like a binder.
(Campus has some, but again, there are also others).

And planners in any format, or for any level of specificity.
