It's not quite a steeple, more a sort of pyramidal top to one corner of the roof.
We don't have a bit like that, but we have a nice gothic arch window on the top floor.

it is! the softer edges are lovely somehow. i've often thought i'd love a straw bale house ...Friends of ours built a little straw bale house as a temporary measure. It was a nice little building - although we only visited for the day, so I can't say what it was like to live in - cosy I'm sure.
