I've been on a Grim Dawn tear this weekend but it keeps crashing and I'm wondering if my removing edge has caused some instability ... 😈🤭

anywho, I feel like it's finally time to ditch windows for good. But I need my games to work cos that's the entire purpose of that machine. I wouldn't have it if I didn't game.

So ... Imma #AskFedi about distro suggestions and resources for a #LinuxGaming build so I don't spend a month tweaking and fiddling.

Some notes:

• I am no Linux noob but my experience has been limited to a server-type environment rather than desktop
• That said ... I am a Debian nerd; I will always choose Debian until I can't (like maybe now - there's a distro or two tuned for gaming, no?)
• I game on steam but I also have some standalone games like WoW and ascension.gg that I'd like to have as well
• My hardware is just under 10 years old; I built it round about 2017 - GeForce GTX 1070 and AMD Ryzen 7 1700

... hmmm 🤔 ... what else you need to know?

@fyrfli I do what little gaming I do on Debian Sid and/or Testing plus proprietary NVIDIA using Steam with main storage on an NFS drive (boy has that been an adventure), lgogdownloader to archive my GOG library and install things as I want, and a heavily modified itch io downloader for my itch library. You may also want to look at some of @atomicpoet recent posts that mention his tests with a few distributions in a gaming setup.
