Do you use the WordPress.com Reader? I am definitely not objective on this, but I think it’s a pretty nice (and free!) way to consume information, whether it comes from RSS feeds or newsletters on WordPress sites.
If you needed a little push to give the tool a try, watch this space! Over the next few weeks, @pfefferle and I will be working on a small Hackathon to bring the open social web into the WordPress.com reader (or the other way around), so you’ll have more reasons to like the Reader!

💯 hard agree, when I discovered the Wordpress Reader some time back, I added a whole bunch of feeds to it, and I like it. But I also love feedly for it's collapsed accordion-fold, as it can be quicker to scan headlines. WordPress however includes the featured image, which sometimes feels more engaging.

@jeremy @pfefferle I've used it for quite long, until my own site mysteriously disappeared from the reader. I hope that Fediverse makes more and more WordPress experience more independent from JetPack. As JetPack is de facto centralized, and it has its own conditions.

@elettrona What’s your site URL? I’d be happy to look into why you cannot find or follow it in the Reader. I see your Bearblog’s general feed is in there (you can view and subscribe here when you’re logged in to WordPress.com), and the english one is available <a href="https://wordpress.com/reader/feeds/179094605"here, so I assume it’s for another site?
I hope that Fediverse makes more and more WordPress experience more independent from Jetpack.
The ActivityPub plugin is independent from Jetpack, and you can be active on the Fediverse with your WordPress site without using the Jetpack plugin. That said, the WordPress.com Reader remains something that’s obviously tightly coupled with your WordPress.com account. That part won’t change.

@elettrona One can follow a site in the WordPress.com Reader even if that site doesn’t use the Jetpack plugin. For example, your Bearblog site is available in the Reader, because it has RSS feeds.
