I think I've developed something I call "beet superstition".
If I break a personal record, go up a plate, lift more than usual, I praise the beets I've had dinner the previous night. But then, if I have beets and struggle the next day, I blame the beets, they must have been old, or dried up things, surely the beets were wrong somehow.
