This is an important milestone only made possible by all of you actively raising your voices to your MEPs and MPs. THANK YOU! We need to remain vigilant: the Justice and Home Affairs Council is still meeting the 13-14th October.
We need to actively monitor the coming days!

@chatcontrol No. THANK YOU TOO JOACHIM. Without you, we wouldn't have so much organization with the MEPS emails. THANK ALL OF YOU GUYS.

Jens Spahn: "We as the CDU/CSU parliamentary group are against indiscriminate monitoring of chats. That would be like preemptively opening all letters to check whether there's something illegal in them. That's not acceptable, that won't happen under our watch."
@chatcontrol I hear Germany is thinking of reversing its opposition to this monstrous legeslation. Keep doing all you can.

@chatcontrol Keep fighting! Germany's government position is still not clear. So, keep fighting for good!

@chatcontrol That's good. But don't stop fighting! Germany's government position is still unclear. So, keep fighting for good!

@chatcontrol But, despite the celebration for now. KEEP THE PRESSURE. This is still a unbalanced time.

@chatcontrol Italy changed from red (when I sent the mail) to blue, glad to see a change. Let's hope for others changing too

@chatcontrol I don't believe anything Jens Spahn says, but for now I just hope they don't make a U turn when it comes to actually vote on it.
Edit: And I was right: They say "Es wird mit uns keine anlasslose Chatkontrolle geben" which translates to "There will be no warrantless chat control with us." which means they want chat control with a warrant, so they still want to break end to end encryption for chat.

@chatcontrol I am wondering, how many countries are needed for majority to stop chat control?

@chatcontrol By Alexandra Geese, German MEP: "This success shows that public pressure and a strong civil society work!
But: Our chats will only be safe once the federal government has clearly taken a position and the vote in the Council has been officially scheduled for next week. And one thing is also clear: There will be a next proposal.
