In the entire first page of replies, I see one "I want it to be different" and every other response is "I don't want it at all".
I don't understand why leadership wants this so badly. I mean, I joke about CEOs who chose a shirt size at age 19 and now are fatter and hypoxic, but is that really it? Is there some other property inherent to the C-suite that makes them bad at decisions?@silvermoon82 Mozilla's leadership is coming from the same industry that's forcing AI down people's throaths.

@amoroso I replied to it, but I've already abandoned Firefox after many years, for Librewolf & Ironfox. They aren't going to listen, but it's nice that everyone else is as "fuck no" about it as me.

I just carefully crafted a polite reply to their request but when I clicked 'Submit' I was taken to a login or sign-up page. That's the attitude we're dealing with. They don't want my opinion unless they can monetize my data. -

@srtcd424 @float13 @mdione indeed, in both safety and ability to scale down photovoltaics are much better than wind turbines
(which is why wind turbines are mostly a power plant level thing, while photovoltaic on the home is often a better choice even in places with more wind than sun)
(also, this is definitely a case of whyNotBoth, each in its own suitable environment)

@mdione @srtcd424 @Mr_GHARice @float13 the smart bit inside the inverter box decides how much energy should be taken by the panels, batteries or grid, and how much energy should go to the house, batteries, or grid
the panels are ok with only providing less energy than they could produce, with no ill effects, because electovoltaics are *magic*; (I assume that there is a bit more heat going around, but still less than what would have been released by the sun hitting a dark-ish roof, so easily dissipated)
