Because he had never actually visited the UK, he made several mistakes, such as claiming that his alleged contact in Glasgow "would do anything for a litre of wine", unaware of Scottish drinking habits or that the UK did not use the metric system.

@tml reading the page I wondered if he was the inspiration for the main character in «Our Man in Havana» and apparently he was, even though the novel was actually about the disillusion from the author's experience at MI6 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Man_in_Havana

@mlevison I use LLMs to help me with basic code writing tasks, generating the structural frameworks, saving me a lot of typing time. However, I never rely on that code out of the box, I always review it thoroughly and often just snip and prune. I would never attempt to give an LLM a complicated set of instructions, it's going to fail every time.
