There are fairly disgusting, not to say dishonest, recruiting ads for ICE on DC-area TV programs. They're aimed at current law enforcement officers, playing on their oaths of office (sanctuary cities require you to not protect the people you were sworn to protect) and saying that ICE only arrests "the worst of the worst", which in reality seems to mean anyone brown-skinned, as opposed to the "predators" the ads talk about. And there's a $50K sign-up bonus, student loan forgiveness, etc.
Are these ads showing elsewhere? -

Are these ads showing elsewhere?@SteveBellovin I read a $50K signing bonus and loan forgiveness as signs that they can't recruit as many staff as they think they need. Which means everyone else is winning.

Are these ads showing elsewhere?@SteveBellovin one thing that keeps amazing me is the lack of education police in the US get. In Denmark the police academy takes 2 years and 4 months before being allowed out with an experienced colleague.

Dato che mi ritrovo gli sportelli della macchina smontati per sistemare delle infiltrazioni d'acqua quando piove forte, mi consigliate di insonorizzarli? Avevo adocchiato questo che nei negozi non riesco a trovare

Riordinando i cassetti ho trovato un appunto del 2003 con un nome e un titolo che potrei giurare in buona fede di non aver mai sentito nominare. Vado a controllare in rete e parrebbe una lettura interessante: grazie del suggerimento, me stessa del passato.
(E no, non lo dico il titolo: se lo leggerò, vedrò di recensirlo. Ma conoscendomi potrebbe finire di nuovo in un cassetto e diventare un suggerimento di lettura per il 2047).

@matz @snow io comunque uso un'app, openweather, che mi piace molto, essenziale e pulita, però ultimamente non ci azzecca più tanto (anzi, tantusky) come prima. Dato che uso quasi sempre da cellulare mi piacerebbe un servizio leggibile e senza fronzoli (l'opposto di meteoam, per capirci).
