    Is there any way to access my files if I can't login as myself? My standard login suddenly gives me a flashing, crazy screen with no interaction except a moving cursor. But I can still login from a USB as a live session user, so I wondered if I could get to those files from there. I've been trying to use su - in the terminal but it doesn't recognize my actual username. I really need to rescue some files from this computer.     Ladder-experienced people and adjacent:I have been spending significant time on a ladder and exerting upward force in order to repair a ceiling. I tend to stand with the peak of the ladder behind me, and brace against the next step up.I have been getting truly epic bruises on the backs of my calves. Like, enough to make it painful to squat. Any advice? Does one just get used to it? Should I be wearing squishy leg warmers? Put shin guards on backwards?“Turn around, dingus” is understandable but would make it hard to access the corners.#askFedi #diy

    @aj I'm right now testing a NodeBB forum (just starting) but I'm afraid to turn on Federation because my last experience and info was that defederation doesn't really work. If you blocked a user or instance they were really just muted for you, but they could still see everything from your forum and comment for everyone else in the Fediverse to see.Anyone knows whether that is fixed, or whether using an allowlist instead of blocklist makes a difference?
