179 Euros
A 179 Euro purchase in 2010 seemed like a splurge. 16 years later, that appliance has survived moves, earthquakes, and snowstorms, becoming a silent witness to my life's changes.

@stefano Enjoyable read. They certainly don't make them like they used to!

We have such a crisp oven, and it cooks half our food.
Home made pizza in 12 minutes. Oven potatoes in 15. Grilled fish, the same. Grilled chicken, a bit more.

@stefano I know that's not the point of the story, but the pricetag alone is not always an indication of the total cost of ownership will be. And sadly, it's hard to even estimate it at the beginning. But for us, let's say a middle class, it's usually a good idea not to buy the cheapest stuff as we tend to use them for a longer time anyway. For someone at the edge of survival, every € is a saving. For a millionaire, it's just an everyday purchase.
The emotional value, if there even will be any, only the time will tell.
