To be fair a lot of people had really unpleasant encounters with the Mastodon HOA folks in 2022 including myself. They did a lot of damage to fedi's reputation, and it's hard to convince people things are better now, 3 years on

Anyway I'm legitimately no longer sad about the fact they'll never give fedi a shot because frankly I don't want this place turning into bluesky 2.0

@eniko maybe this just sounds rude of me, but that being the case, i wish they would just, stop complaining lmao
it's absolutely mind-numbing seeing people i care about go from complaining about how shit twitter was, to suddenly getting rose-tinted glasses about twitter pre-elon buyout, and then they move to bluesky, and predictably because it's a centralized corporate-owned platform, they end up having the same complaints they did about twitter pre-elon buyout but pretend they're new complaints -
