Their actions / inactions have nothing to do with what is best for the country.

They're all in.@petergleick and if they don't, and we ever get control back, I will vote for and support and donate and knock-on-doors for the candidate who promises to use the same authorization methods to aggressively enforce every single possible law broken by any Republican in this administration and hold as many of them as possible in prison as flight risks while any felony charges are being pursued.
I want the retribution candidate. I want to see the fucking Nuremberg trials for ICE agents and leadership.
I swear, I'll support fucking beheading some of these assholes.

For anyone who has worked in tech for a few decades it should be abundantly clear that both the main internal cost *and* the main competence of your typical US enterprise tech company is ....
Sales...Not tech...
literally 80% of what you are paying for is sales.
So if tech is any kind of strategic internal competence, it quickly becomes sensible to be much less reliant on companies who spend most of their effort selling you things you really don't need / are not in your interest

I second the recommendation for XMPP, as it is properly and actively federated, with an ecosystem that encourages small, healthy, community hosted, servers (hosting one for ~20 users is about as hard, expensive and time consuming as self-hosting a static website)
