To whoever's in charge of the weather today, I'm kind of looking for something a bit more like this.To whoever's in charge of the weather today, I'm kind of looking for something a bit more like this.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

#FootpathFridayThe Whaligoe Steps, on the eastern Scottish coast. These were built to enable local herring women to haul huge baskets of fish up from the boats to the processing facility above. Lucky them.
There are over 300 steps - no two sources seem to arrive at the same number - and the steps are maintained by local villagers. They're not *quite* as steep as the Tourist Board would have you believe, but then I was only hauling my fat arse up them and not a massive load of fish.

My stomach just growled and my dog barkedWhen my wife* farts, the dog silently leaves the room.
(*: no, really - when I do it, he seems fine with it)

Neighbor kid asked me ever so politely if she could go in my little garden. So kids can be trained not to trample all over the plants?
Asking for a friend.
Plus, do you just have a giant pile of rocks?

Neighbor kid asked me ever so politely if she could go in my little garden. What was it, do you think, which made her want to go in your garden rather than her own?
(Apart from you clearly being a cool dudette)

Drove past Newcastle today, and dropped in to see a friend. -
I just re-read the trilogy His Dark Materials. When I was a kid, a whole housing estate's worth of us were sent down to the local Methodist chapel on a Sunday morning for indoctrination, which kind-of stuck.
It was only years later that I realised my parents had done this so they could stay in bed and have sex.
Instant atheism.

Good morning!'nThese are the Callanish stones, on Lewis, Outer Hebrides.Good morning!
These are the Callanish stones, on Lewis, Outer Hebrides. They were hauled upright around 5,000 years ago - making the construction older than Stonehenge. The tidal winds have, as yet, not destroyed them and they should be good for another 5,000 years.
The things which are looming in your life won't be around for 5,000 years - or indeed 5,000 days. Most of them will be gone (or on the way) in 5,000 hours. A lot of the immediate stress will be over in 5,000 seconds (a bit over an hour). And they won't be remembered by history.
I'm looking at you, USians. Be an implacable standing stone today (and every day). These clowns will be gone soon enough.
Alternatively, look at the lovely picture I took. Pretty stones.
