My husband and I were both working from home today. Schedules and weather aligned such that we were able to walk to lunch. It was a a nice treat on a gorgeous day!

I missed gall week by a long shot, but today I saw tons of these Hackberry Nipplegall Psylliid galls (on a hackberry tree, not surprisingly). There were some still in the tree and tons fallen on the ground.

Good morning! Looks like somebody decided to close up the photographer's hole in this fence. It doesn't bother me with my phone camera but it's a bummer for people with big lenses who liked to take photos of the skyline from here.

I had some Brussels sprouts I needed to use. And then I thought I should cook some potatoes, too. And then I thought, as long as the oven is hot, I'll do some squash as well. And then of course I needed some protein to complete the meal, hence the halloumi.

Sick and tired of my dog getting riled up when the doorbell rings and it turns out to be yet another salesperson who thought the "No soliciting" sign doesn't apply to them.

My physical therapist is truly excellent. She has a knack for healing the human body through touch. I walk into her office barely able to turn my head, and I walk out with full range of motion.
And her oxalis plant was in flower today.

Doh I just raised a false alarm at work. Realized it and reversed it but feeling a bit embarrassed.

Most of the pollinators have moved on to the asters and they're covered in golden pollen. I would have thought goldenrod would be more golden, but there's something special about the aster pollen.

I saw a jumping spider that was bigger than the ones I normally see. Zoomed in to the photo to see why: it was eating dinner, a fly.
My poor husband, I showed him the photo and told him how cute jumping spiders are. He was like, ehrm. Spiders: they're not for everybody!

With our friends at the market yesterday, somehow we ended up going in together on a bushel of squash. I don't like squash. And now I have a butternut, an acorn, a spaghetti, and an I-don't-know what other kind of squash to use.
