I'd love to know how engines like id tech 8 are dealing with the CPU side of things. Afaik they're running the entire game on a single thread pool, without a real main thread or render thread. I'd love to know how that interacts with current Intel parts which randomly shift your threads between cores with dramatically different performance characteristics. And also whether they've made any changes to support it (e.g. segregation of pools)

@chrisdenton @dotstdy showing up and doing is a necessary but not sufficient condition. If the maintainer has a very different idea about what the software could or should do, you're simply out of luck. Now, if it's end-user software, you can probably work around that with a more or less soft or hard fork, but when it's intermediate libraries, it generally just becomes wasted effort.

Next up is fixing the shower so it doesn't leak all over the floor, alas I can't fix the fact that they bodged the floor and it doesn't drain, but I can at least fix it so the shower doors actually close, and replace the seals. Then I want to do something with the lan cabling, ideally I'd punch it through the wall into the adjoining closet, but there's no power point at the cable entry, nor in the closet. So a bit unsure on my plan there. We do need an electrician to do new outlets anyway tho...

I like how in Swift grammar, structs and enums are basically just groups for regular bindings. It's neat.```struct X { let a: Float32 = 10.0; var b: Float32;}```But, I also like the Zig thing where they use a prefix, rather than an (optional) separator for delimiting fields. That unifies access and definition in a pleasing way (i.e. you can text search for `.a`, finding both definitions and field accesses.```struct X { .a: Float32 = 10 .b: Float32}```

If your language has block expressions, why not use block expressions for all grouping! be free, parentheses! `{ x + 10 } * y`. parens can be unambiguously tuples, just like they always wanted.
