@informapirata @aitech @G3rt Guarda, con questa tecnologia si sta vivendo la stessa cosa che un decennio fa, si viveva col famigerato IoT (Internet of Things). Io sono stata la prima a promuoverlo perché allora, era una buona soluzione contro le barriere sensoriali fatte da un mondo che non calcola ciechi, sordi e quant'altro, in fase di progettazione.
L'AI sta facendo la stessa cosa. Io sono la prima a dire che certi problemi li può risolvere, tipo darmi delle istruzioni informatiche disponibili in modo chiaro solo tramite screenshot o video non verbale. Ma se tu mi metti questa tecnologia sul frigo, sulla doccia, sullo spazzolino da denti, se me la imponi mi stai dicendo "io di te faccio quello che voglio". "Tu sei un prodotto in vendita, mentre ti do le comodità io ti schedo poi i dati li vendo a chi mi pare".

I currently installed my GoToSocial instance on VPS and now I'm conflicted about how to organize the project better.
GoToSocial is needed to interact with Fediverse users, as the other platforms miss some activities.
⁃ WriteFreely: very good, minimal to write, but it has no space for search or comments. It's OK just for the stories.
⁃ WordPress: it has federation through plugin, comments appearing on the site, but not yet usable as a fediverse actor for common interaction, with an ordinary client. Icecubes, Mona, Phanpy, Enafore, Tweesecake, Elk, etc. And "enable mastodon apps" is still buggy.
⁃ As I have contents both in Italian and English, I currently have to choose: do I federate the English and Italian WordPress sites where real world and long-form fictions are published, and have just an unified project's instance on GoToSocial where I personally talk (me and my other co-worker) both in Italian and English? I honestly am very conflicted. #activitypub #gotosocial #WordPress

@dbtechyt People assume that things you use every day, will never get dirty. They think that washing your hands is sufficient to clean. Not talking about "exceptional" situations, I'm talking about everyday life now. No need to touch the keys with hands dirty of chocolate. All sticky. But even sneezing on a keyboard could generate dirt there. In this, covid taught nothing.

As a woman I don't think I'm saying too much, referring to every blind man whose porn content reading is limited (too many undescribed images, too many videos with music and less sounds); in this case they turn on their imagination by looking for something else. And they go in self-satisfaction mode even just listening to another person's voice talking gentle to them, even about weather!
I'm talking about men because I have experienced some awful harassment by those sample blind folks; but even women search for pleasure while on the pc/smartphone. It's not a sin. But it's a sin to leave hardware input devices dirty!
I use a microfiber cloth with an alcoholic solution, don't know if english word is isopropan or isopropilic alcohol, that one used with paper. Because if dust or liquids enter inside Braille cells, you ruin a device which costs at least 2000 euro, the smallest. With 100 euro cost for each cell repaired.

@Tutanota Digital independence day for blind people is as hypocrite as Valentine's day if you are in an abusive relationship, where one gives chocolate hearts to their partner while abusing of them, one day after the other.
No, this is not my way to get angry/envious of people who celebrate good stories. But to remind that too many people can't afford digital independence from multi-billionaires tech, as smaller companies/communities aren't so careful of accessibility (yet). This is due to a very relevant digital gap lasting since 25 years at least, when laws have started to come out before learning. Investments made on empathy-driven campaigns, "you must make it accessible otherwise"... The consequence is we have most 40-50 years old developers who know nothing. And 30-20 years old devs who could learn, but who are gradually being replaced by automated tools which claim to create accessibility automatically while accessibility needs human approach.

Real images of ICE-related violence when official accounts boost fake videos, are important to boost; but if you HAVE FUN boosting "man has shot little dog" randomly, or those justice-hungry articles, well, that's ragebait and propaganda. Here in Italy we have a justice-related vote within less than 2 months and "yes" side and "no" side, are sending lots of polarizing info. Including that rubbish "migrant stole a blind man's phone, thankfully a group of harley davidson bikers was there" (ending with the thief giving the phone back and promising to work in blind-related association) those rubbish AI-made stories whose purpose is to teach "self-justice is better than institutions". [talking emoji: pull the handle, toilet flushes, shit goes down]

@maj @fediverso @evan Yes, if the screenshot is a quote, a text, it's useful. But sometimes it happens that the post directs you to a link where reading on, you end up supporting an unpleasant person or space. In that case, anonymous shorteners could be used to reproduce the link - very difficult to copy/paste a link from an alt-text

@maj @fediverso @evan I usually post comments coming from other social networks only if it's a YouTube video. I dislike screenshots because I'm totally blind and a screenshot-only post, is impossible to produce, and to READ, for me. And, not being on Facebook and Instagram or Tiktok, I don't read those posts at all. Youtube anyways, is still full of interesting contents and I've posted some contents there.

@Tutanota Tuta won't spy on me. True. But its web interface's inaccessibility to blind people does. I am currently using it for my service provider's newsletters only, because to select one e-mail from the interface and reading it, I need a sighted person to help me clicking with the mouse on it. So, if the sighted person talks about how much I spend on hosting provider, the problem isn't relevant; but if I exchange private, sensitive, health, SEXUAL information? As the web interface currently is, I can't even think of it. In 2024 it was nearly the best in accessibility, whose hands went on it?

@pfefferle @mediaformat I have a wapuu on a wooden round base for a mug - a gift from WordCamp Pisa 2025. Now I wonder if there's a plush wapuu somewhere. I have seen one on an American site some months ago; but my purpose would be to buy it and donate to WordPress simultaneously, but I would have given more money to postal services, the double of wapuu's price!

@pastore @informapirata Anch'io sto pensando di rinnovare. Ghost ha problemi di accessibilità (belli grossi) e per via di minimal, sto pensando a fare almeno la parte di racconti, con writefreely. Lo farei tutto con quello, se non ci fossero grosse limitazioni per header e footer

@filippodb @devol @sicurezza Il problema di "staccarsi da whatsapp" non è "la discussione con persone interessanti" o meno. Esempio pratico: io posso pure esserci su matrix. Ma chi in concreto si occupa delle mie esigenze (accompagnatore, pulizie di casa, ecc) no. E sono persone assolutamente inesperte di tech. Mica posso dire alla signora Ioana "guarda registrati su matrix poi do il mio account a Filippo che ti invita o ti invito io" minimo minimo (essendo ottimista) chiede del film matrix ammesso che lo conosca.
Stereotipo di signora Ioana che si intende di srotolare la carta da pulire ma non di tech. NOTA: non è uno stereotipo contro i rumeni. Ioana è anche una versione dialettale stretta di Giovanna.
