Lo screen reader usato solo con la voce, senza Braille, non rileva le virgolette. Settaggio usato spesso se no si renderebbe un libro con dialoghi, molto complesso da leggere.
Litigate perché in certi contesti, se usi o non usi le virgolette puoi esprimere concetti opposti. Lei è la "mia" donna, virgolette. Metafore. Modo di dire indicando "la donna che ho accanto / che ha scelto di starmi accanto". Lei è la MIA donna, maiuscole, senza virgolette, rivendicazione di possesso/esclusività. I computer fanno forse lo stesso perché sono creati dagli umani.

Instantly it says I'm following; then returns to pending request. Seems like something on federation doesn't work. Check logs, and maybe server's date. I bumped with my head against the wall multiple times before detecting that my vps server's date was one hour earlier than current real date.

@me In Windows the worst experience with screen readers comes from auto-scrolling. Posts which scroll automatically on the page, so focus jumps. I've even tried to set in the interface to avoid scrolling but I don't have a good experience in reading from web. I rather use tweesecake on windows and Mona app on iOS. Also trying another one called icecubes

#SelfHosting week 1, phase 4. FINALLY.
The main architecture is up and running now.
Lemmy, WriteFreely, Castopod, today I'll get WordPress multisite running; my current site on shared hosting, runs a singular website where I created multilingual through "FullSiteEditing" WordPress feature; but it's quite difficult to maintain in long-term so 2 sites with 2 languages will make it better.
Now I have upgraded my hosting plan to Hostinger kvm2, and associated my VPS to the huge lifetime 10TB cloud I have, for podcasts. PCloud, through rclone. Next phase will be WordPress, then maybe to point various services to the right domain (plusbrothers.net and not .online). Most passages have been done via command line, and to find the right commands I've used google gemini. Sono orgogliosa del mio sindaco quando fa queste scelte. Si è espresso in favore dei diritti delle famiglie omogenitoriali, ha risposto a tono a Vannacci, è a favore della transizione energetica...
Eppure è della Lega.
Naturalmente fa e dice stupidate pure lui, ovvio. Ma questo non è un post per elogiare il mio sindaco, bensì per indicare che esistono idee buone anche in alcuni esponenti di partiti ostili alle nostre cause.

@elena @fsfe @EUCommission Hetzner is even worse. And Contabo forces me to auto-generate a password, not allowing me to save it (at least something hides the vaultwarden/bitwarden window), then if you click "forgot password" you get a captcha. Hostinger seems, at the moment, the least evil. More expensive though.

Subscribed to a Ionos vps in alternative to Hostinger, but the interface is much, much more complex (I'm referring to the vps and domains management) - thought Hostinger was the worst.
But, if accessibility declaration on Hostinger says "partially accessible" giving an e-mail address (not dedicated, it's the generic support), Ionos makes me point to an Italian paragraph where they claim barrier-free then says "for support, contact us through contact form", redirecting to a German accessibility page where NO FORM is displayed. Is it this way to treat customers?
Does @fsfe and @EUCommission have something to say? These are fake accessibility declarations.
You can't say you respect all customers, when you make your showcase site mostly accessible but most important feature (the vps/firewall management panels) impossible to use. To give an example, the "edit" button for a single firewall rule is labeled as "y", the delete is "]", the add rule is "@" ... Not to say that @yunohost on Ionos creates ipv6 issues, the port TCP 25 is closed and I need to call them with EXACTLY my phone number to have them open the port for me...
I must definitely try to talk to them and start the refund procedure.
Unfortunately though, Ionos would give me 240 gb hard disk for storage while hostinger, even upgrading, would give me 100.

@eriol @informapirata Il problema di personaggi famosi e politici è proprio questo: influenzano, e hanno i soldi per farlo.
Poi nel caso specifico delle persone trans, la stessa scienza ha conoscenze relativamente recenti e neanche tutte. Le persone in questione sono poche, e allora ci si sente in diritto di sminuirle. O peggio.

@informapirata La Rowling per i discorsi che fa sulle persone trans, non mi piace per niente. Ciò detto, sono contraria a chi boicotta i suoi libri e quant'altro. Vero che Rowling ha finanziato e finanzia battaglie anti-trans, ha fatto perdere diritti alle donne trans in Inghilterra, piena di soldi quanto sia. Ma censurare i suoi libri o similari, non risolverebbe il problema.
Questo però non esclude che spesso e volentieri noialtri progressisti risultiamo antipatici a causa del troppo attaccarsi alle sottigliezze. Tipo una volta parlando di insalata feci una battuta "si presenta SON GINO, ma si chiama Valeriana". O viceversa, non me la ricordo. Fatto sta che una persona mi diede della transfobica; peccato che fosse una semplice battuta che parlava di parole e nomi, nulla a che vedere direttamente col sesso e il genere. Se invece di valeriana avesse avuto come sinonimo "buon enrico" (trattasi invece di un altro tipo di vegetale) il doppio senso avrebbe avuto lo stesso identico valore.
E queste cazzate qua fanno sì che dopo non ci si fa caso o ci si irrita quando le parole contano davvero.
Se uno su un manuale scrive "premi il tasto verde" e io protesto, non mi sta offendendo; è solo che non capisco. Là basta dire "premi il tasto verde (OK)" e si risolve il problema.
