@planeguy @aj I think we need to mitigate against centralization there. One way is to have multiple tag servers. tags.pub exists; so does tagpump.app. Other services like surf.social or channel.org use aggregated channels with multiple tags, actors, and other inputs, but they're in the same vein. I'd love love love to see someone take the code we've made and deploy another server, 3, 5, or 7. I'd be happy to help with that process.

I won't try activitypub at the moment, maybe next week. @spacebuffer@fosstodon.org yes! It fully supports two-way federation and interacts well with Mastodon and Lemmy/Piefed/Mbin. There are granular visibility controls so you can have some categories federating and some not. There's also a feed view if you really can't give up the feed 😅 cc @sam@break3.social

@rolle This is why I’m on the Fediverse, bridging with BlueSky. Because I’d be happy to federate with them, if they’d open up as standard. But they don’t. They want to keep to themselves unless someone explicitly says they want to bridge to Fediverse. That’s the reason I don’t really trust BlueSky. Did you see the European PDS, EuroSky?

Sono proprio felice di iniziare a vedere altri #admin del #Fediverso riuniti nello stesso angolino.È normale che siamo tutti un po’ sulla difensiva (me compreso), la stanza è nata da un solo giorno… ma siamo già in 20!La verità è che stare ognuno nel proprio fortino e non collaborare è controproducente; se non troviamo un vero punto d’incontro, rischiamo solo di farci schiacciare dai soliti social commerciali che già bussano alla porta con il loro “ciao, vi inglobiamo tutti?”.Chissà, magari tra un po’ ci rilassiamo, abbassiamo gli scudi e iniziamo davvero a fare squadra, aiutarci e costruire qualcosa di bello insieme… senza campanilismi e senza “il mio server è più bello del tuo”.🙏

One of my favourite features of the #fediverse is seeing people *learning things*. There are so many folks here discovering dying arts and trades. People learning how the things we take for granted work, and endeavouring to implement them themselves!People getting their #HAMradio licenses, #selfhosting, making clothing, blacksmithing, gardening, repairing their own things, backporting modern software to run on windows 3.11... Y'all are my people. Never stop learning, and never stop sharing what you've learned.
