@oliviavespera@spacey.space why does a secondary relay need explicit permission from the source instance to have their content relayed? If the source content is public then there's no discussion to be had, there are no grey areas, the post is public. It sounds like you're trying to add in layers of privacy to a visibility scheme ("public") that does not have any.

@OliviaVespera we should also have a way for individuals to go against their instance wishes. That is not adding bunch of tags in profile.

@planeguy @aj I think we need to mitigate against centralization there. One way is to have multiple tag servers. tags.pub exists; so does tagpump.app. Other services like surf.social or channel.org use aggregated channels with multiple tags, actors, and other inputs, but they're in the same vein. I'd love love love to see someone take the code we've made and deploy another server, 3, 5, or 7. I'd be happy to help with that process.
