The argument shouldn't be:
"I don't have anything to hide, so you can surveil me,"
Instead, it should be:
"I don't have anything to hide, so you shouldn't surveil me."

I am so stubborn about not using AI.
You have no idea.
I will even go as far as writing my own texts, drawing my own images, writing my own code, and reading the whole article or email just by myself. Crazy stuff.
Regulate AI to oblivion.
Too much stress.
I need a spa day, or something.
You might think it's not a priority with all the doom happening around.
But the erosion of privacy rights is directly linked to the erosion of human rights, and the loss of democracy.
Privacy makes it safe for you to discuss, to organize, to resist, and to be your true self. This is exactly why fascists and authoritarians are attacking it.
If we lose privacy, we lose everything else. We have to defend it with all we've got.
Privacy rights are a priority.

I feel this needs to be repeated ๐ช
The annoyance of cookie banners
doesn't come from the regulations, but from the malicious compliance of the corporations who want to exploit your personal data.
No data-harvesting cookies = No banner.
Simple.
My websites have no cookie banners,
because they don't use any non-essential cookies and don't track visitors.
Yours shouldn't either.
Saying No and refusing to use unethical tools and platforms can be a powerful way to protest.
Do not minimize the power you have by refusing to participate.
I hate that I can basically recycle my posts about Chat Control every month or so. These lobbyists are extremely motivated.
Let's show them that we are
even more motivated than them to protect privacy rights, human rights, and democracy! โ๐
You know what you have to do:

โข Recent news:
"Just before a decisive meeting in Brussels, digital rights expert and former Member of the European Parliament Dr. Patrick Breyer is sounding the alarm. Using a โdeceptive sleight of hand,โ a mandatory and expanded Chat Control is being pushed through the back door, in a form even more intrusive than the originally rejected plan. The legislative package could be greenlit tomorrow in a closed-door EU working group session."

There are different ways to say the same things. And it's fine to repeat the same thing over in different ways.
Because some people understand better one way, and others another way.
We need a large diversity of voices bringing the same messages to fight for human rights. Never hesitate to add yours to the battle! Every voice helps! ๐โ
Do you think there are enough organizations specifically dedicated to defending privacy rights?

If your product doesn't use any AI at all,
you will be ahead of the curve.
And you should brag about it.
It's incredible to me how we gave up on so many aspects of privacy in the past five years. Things that we were taking for granted not long ago.
Now, some think it's totally normal to record others without their consent in any contexts.
People feel entitled to others' images and personal lives, incessantly demanding access to it. Everyone needs to share everything publicly online or be deemed suspicious, and excluded.
This has greatly errored the fabric of social relationships and trust in our societies.
There is so much we need to do to heal this culture and the damages that have been done and continue to be done.
We need to treat each other with respect. Genuine respect as human beings. And consent, true consent with true choices, is at the center of that.
