@liw I do think there are some reasons to worry - but not about skilled programmers losing their privileged position in the job market.

My impression is that a lot of the frenzied discourse is caused by two facts: 1) a few corporations are spending ridiculous amounts of money, and some of it on propagandizing, and 2) these LLM techniques do have some kernel of utility for some software engineering-related tasks.

I assume they will now shift their keen investigative minds to reporting about Palantir's sales process. Or whatever. This is going to be great!

@rysiek @librewolf I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for good progress on the servo front.

In the meantime, I just learned that Fedora doesn't currently package librewolf, so https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_IceCat is the most available side-stepping option in Fedora-land.

A brief web search didn't give me a clear impression how those two forks compare. Maybe someone here has insights?
