@CathyBikesBook yep, my follow migrated correctly.
Boosting again, too.

@mcc (not talking about Chinese / Asian rice cakes made from rice flour here, of course)
@mcc I assume so. There can only be so many ways to puff rice.
@mcc I once briefly investigated this, on account of my kids consuming unholy amounts of rice “waffles” (unsweetened puffed rice cakes. Like cardboard, but a bit better.)
The answer is no. You need considerable pressure, more than any usual kitchen implement will deliver.
@sundogplanets thank you for supplying a much-needed emergency ration of fuzzy animals!
@hpod16 Welcome!
Good to have you here. If you need anything, just wave 👋😊
@neil Ah yes!
Me recently: I’ve been doing computers professionally for more than 20 years now. I’m good at this!
Me: why won’t my second monitor turn on? Surely the display driver software is misconfigured. Let me check.
(20 minutes of focused search for the error)
Me: wait, maybe I’ll go check the HDMI cable, just to be sure.
No prizes for guessing what the problem was 🤡
@afewbugs maybe we should have a thread on dark patterns in software, but for sexism
@afewbugs seeing the other replies here reminds to point out that I’m using the Nextcloud calendar mostly (but not exclusively) through my iPhone and whatever Gnome has for a calendar application. (Galendar??)
I’m rather stunned to learn that the Nextcloud Calendar app doesn’t let you set recurring reminders. This strongly supports your argument.
Also, WTF?
@afewbugs well you do have a point!
@afewbugs I applaud the larger point you’re making!
Quite prosaically, I’m using Reminders in Nextcloud Calendar for recurring tasks. Works very well for me.
Excuse me if this is a silly question, but:
If you’re working at a weapons maker, is it established security best practice to have your badge hanging from your belt when you get on the train?
@futurebird are there training courses where I could learn this technique?
I’ve seen it used to great effect, but am not really good at it myself.
(But then I’m German. We don’t really do nuance. If we want to insult someone, we just say so, in a way that ensures they stay insulted)

You’re calling my phone a what now?
@stefano between that and the newly-ex client, this must have been quite a week for you 😬😬
@stefano 🤢🤢🤢
@stefano I work at a globocorp, and we regularly engage consultants. Once there’s a trust relationship, when the consultant says something can’t be done in time, we believe them.
This looks to like pretty soon, your now-former client will be working only with third-rate consultants. Nobody with alternatives would put up with this bullshit.
@stefano That all sounds decidedly less than professional on your client’s side.
@Colgrace welcome! Enjoy 😊
If you have some pictures of your dogs and cats to share, I’m sure you’ll find an eager audience 🐈🦮
