@dicenbuttons Yeah that Salvador Dali looking decomposition mode is not uncommon. Amanita muscaria does that as part of the reproductive lifecycle. In their case they attract flies as it decays. I suspect the flies proceed to take off covered in spores, helping spread the colony.
