As a German, I already had 2 moments of culture shock.

1. Supermarkets and other stores are open today (a Sunday), some until very late (like 10 pm)

2. Free (and clean) public restrooms 😳

Also so far everyone I talked to spoke English, but I’m also finding that I can understand like 50% of Danish because it has a lot of words that look similar to the German ones.

Arrived in Copenhagen. Main station is like “if you didn’t realize you’d entered Denmark, now you know”.

Solveig and Aster casual.

I couldn’t really come up with a style of clothing that expresses a common interest, but after I drew Hilal and Solveig in sports clothes and Hilal and Aster in formal ones, it made sense to go for casual outfits this time. I had to play around with the colors of Solveig’s and ended up using gradient masks to re-color her top and pants. I think I finally made her breasts stand out as much as I always have in mind.

In other news I booked a short trip to Copenhagen during my vacation. It will be my first time there and I’ll be traveling alone. Got any tips what I should see or eat there? 😆 Or what I should avoid?

If you thought I must be quite successful since I’ve been publishing comics and going to cons for almost 10 years - no, it’s all just a hobby that I am glad I can afford. Nevertheless, I just love writing my niche stories and going to conventions to connect with people and have them see my stuff too much to stop as long as I am able to. But maybe this puts some things into perspective for someone.

I should mention that financially, the con was a total loss. I sold a lot of small stuff, mostly thanks to the stamp rally, but almost no comics (thanks to the people who DID buy a comic!) and wasn’t even able to cover the basic costs for going to the con (booth rent, train and hotel).
I don’t usually talk about this, but overall making comics has been a way for me to lose money in the past years, and I can only keep it up because I have a decently paying main job.

A personal resume about #KaidanCon2025 (just one week late)!

I loved this convention and it was a pleasure to be there!
I tried a bit of a new booth setup that I quite liked. I also had the pleasure to do two commissions which I showed in the previous posts. I enjoyed the sexy waffles at the con. And last but not least, I think we put together a great stamp rally (picture is of our rally rewards which are slightly suggestive depictions of male characters).

But…

We found the con and set up our booths. I am trying a new layout and I quite like it! Photos tomorrow when I’ve fully placed everything.
They didn’t find the badge with my name (all exhibitors get one) 😢 Maybe I’ll get one tomorrow.
And at the hotel they were like „there’s no booking under that name“ - turned out it was registered on my name although Junechildart (the artist I’m traveling with) placed the booking, because she registered (only) me as the guest.

We’re taking the bus now because the train was still waiting. We could already have done that half an hour ago 😩

And now we’re one stop away from the destination and can’t go on because there are people on the tracks 😩 But my personal experience is that when you get out to use an alternative connection, that’s exactly when the train starts running again…

There was a moment of confusion because the displays and voice announcement on the regional train were about a different next stop than everyone expected 😅
Someone on the staff must also have noticed because it was corrected a bit later and the people who had already started to get uneasy could get out at the airport as planned.
