As a German, I already had 2 moments of culture shock.1. Supermarkets and other stores are open today (a Sunday), some until very late (like 10 pm) 2. Free (and clean) public restrooms 😳 Also so far everyone I talked to spoke English, but I’m also finding that I can understand like 50% of Danish because it has a lot of words that look similar to the German ones.

In other news I booked a short trip to Copenhagen during my vacation. It will be my first time there and I’ll be traveling alone. Got any tips what I should see or eat there? 😆 Or what I should avoid?

If you thought I must be quite successful since I’ve been publishing comics and going to cons for almost 10 years - no, it’s all just a hobby that I am glad I can afford. Nevertheless, I just love writing my niche stories and going to conventions to connect with people and have them see my stuff too much to stop as long as I am able to. But maybe this puts some things into perspective for someone. Thanks for reading!

We found the con and set up our booths. I am trying a new layout and I quite like it! Photos tomorrow when I’ve fully placed everything. They didn’t find the badge with my name (all exhibitors get one) 😢 Maybe I’ll get one tomorrow.And at the hotel they were like „there’s no booking under that name“ - turned out it was registered on my name although Junechildart (the artist I’m traveling with) placed the booking, because she registered (only) me as the guest.

I’m not sure which is more surprising - that the PreCure franchise has been going for so long, or that I kept drawing these.No doubt I will do new ones for as long as there are new PreCure seasons and I am physically able to draw.

Maybe that’s my privilege speaking but I have not had issues with bsky users so far and had the feeling that I’m very much capable of steering what parts of it I see and what not. I guess I’m not wanting to be on bsky enough to create a native account there or to change servers to start anew through the bridge but I still don’t like it 😢

At the last con I had a conversation about one of the comics I bought. That had it in English and German, but said that if I understand German I should take that version because jokes work better in the original language. Made me wonder if it’s worth considering to do my next comic in two versions. Unlike the last comics it is set in Germany so the characters canonically speak German 🤔
