@Edent @eivindmork I like answers starting with "That's a great question!" when I know my question was bad. Because this immediately lowers my expectations of a great answer, and so lowers the risk of frustration when receiving a bad answer. This keeps me motivated to write a better question.

@Edent I can see the appeal for those who tinker but as someone who just wants a non-proprietary drop-in replacement for my very agèd Kindle with the dodgy USB port it would seem to have some pretty hefty downsides. Even with timestamping you could have faith in. 😀

I recall reading a kids novel with BASIC code in it that intentionally had a bug it, which was part of the plot. You had to debug it in order to fix the targeting system brfore the incoming missiles destroyed the station you were on
