The app will let you turn it into a clock, which is actually potentially useful.
That makes this a $20 large-format clock.
Sadly, it reverts to remote control mode when you powercycle it :(
Oh! And there's a sound-activated mode, so that's probably what the MIC+/MIC- are for?

Peeling back the sticky silicone was pretty easy once you get between the circuit board and the coating.
I'm at a bit of a loss. Nothing useful on these pads, nor on the DP/DM pads (which I was assuming were USB?)
The PB pads are likely buttons - I could get it to flip the display by shorting a couple of them out.
Any other suggestions for what to try?

So, I just finished reading DEMON COPPERHEAD by Barbara Kingsolver. It was utterly unputdownable, I got mad at my family for speaking to me while I was reading it, and when I read the final sentence and closed the book all I could say was "DAMN."
Highly recommend, y'all. HIGHEST OF HIGHLY.

@matt I didn't say it was often. It's just more often than finding real serious bugs. It's mostly things like, "it assumed I wanted to keep backward compatibility with an old API endpoint, even though there are no consumers of the old API and killing old code is actually a benefit".
I'm not convinced it's writing more bugs than I would have written in the same amount of code or that my bugs are more likely to be caught in review. I don't write 100% test coverage for any of my projects...
