@antanicus comunque, quando ero giovane e frequentavo brutte compagnie, ovvero studenti di fisica, mi è capitato mentre le suddette brutte compagnie dedicavano le loro attenzioni alle canne di leggere un articolo matematico che dimostrava come la giocata migliore al genere di lotterie con un premio sufficientemente alto da cambiare la vita fosse non il non giocare (col quale non si perde niente), ma la giocata minima, con la quale si perde la cifra minima possibile con la quale si può comunque avere la (minima) speranza di una vittoria epocale.
se il primo premio non è di entità tale da cambiare la vita però non ne vale più la pena, perché comunque in media se si gioca regolarmente si va sicuramente in perdita.
(forse sarebbe stato meglio farmi di canne come tutti gli altri, ma oh, non mi piacevano)

@ai6yr Someone gave it a try. Looks like a sufferfest just getting to this area where it starts climbing, but that pretty much took the wind out of their sails and they slumped back to their car.
