@aeva however I learnt long ago that I do need to take some time to unwind between stopping coding and trying to sleep lest I have restless dreams of trying new code patterns which don't work adinfinitum.

@s now this is an interesting one. English is my second language. I mostly think in my native language, but there are circumstances where it's easier for me to think in English because e.g. it's the language I've learned about the thing

@alice I get what you mean but at the time especially when the stepeverything fad was just getting started I remember even seeing the exact same frigging video proposed under two or three different titles (these days this happens less frequently, but from time to time it still happens). Possibly as a consequence of this, I can't say I particularly care about the alleged setup, the primary thing I care about is whether the performers are enjoying themselves or not.

I do feel like reading about ideas from the inside demands a lot more of me. It's frustrating and difficult; I might get angry, and then I have to figure out why I disagree. It's a lot of work.

@HurricaneWeasel yes because putting a star on posts about difficulties or sorrow feels very wrong.I expect everyone understands the intention when I star/favorite such posts, and some feeling of being heard is better than no response at all (I don't always have time to write a reply, or know what to say), but if I could just do a heart or strength thingy, yeah that'll come in handy very often

@generalx There is a simple answer and a longer explanation.Yes I did. But I never really appreciated this until he had died. Well, maybe, in the last couple of years before as well.And wider than this (and also with hindsight), I did have a good relationship with my parents, but that was mostly my fault. I was a seriously fucked up kid - not their fault, it is just the way I was.And am a pretty fucked up adult, but am much better at understanding it now.Sorry - far too long answer.
