Bass newbie reporting in! I picked it up because my kid plays electric guitar.

@hpod16 I usually play long-scale basses, but I found out, that playing a Rickenbacker body shape feels much more comfortable for me, than a Fender body shape. I'm also a small person with small hands and short fingers.
But for some time now, I've been toying with the idea of switching to a short-scale. And playing a short-scale is so damn easy. My fingers just fly over the strings :-)
@sAshA8H so why not make your life easy?
What I failed to mention, my first bass was also FRETLESS. I really didn't know what I was buying, and I made my life a lot harder than it needed to be. Switching to a short-scale has been 💜 🔥 -
1974 Ovation Magnum bass in its case on the floor of the band practice room. I have it strung B-E-A-D so it gets real low and probably stimulates vibe glands or something.
Long ago, a friend told me it was ugly. I was genuinely offended.
@clonedhuman your friend was wrong, that's a beautiful instrument. Love the warm wood!

I just like to buy cheap harmonicas when I travel, sort of as a souvenir. I have some teeeny tiny ones too! -

@hpod16 Hi, I play acustic guitar . I play catholic song in Church. I'm not so able, because I stop 30 years ago, and play again on oct 15 last year. I'm 58 yo and its more difficult for me. But I trust in God. Namastè 🙏🏾

I started a band with some friends and played the piano in said band. We didn't know any bassists, so I figured, my left hand is already doing the bass parts, how hard can it be if I just switch instruments?
Ummm... It's a lot harder to play than the keys, but the sound is so satisfying, I'm sticking with it. 💜As for songs:
Deathcab for Cutie's I will Possess Your Heart, and bad Karma from Miley Cyrus are a big inspo -

At least the Gestapo had uniforms that identified them as Gestapo members; they did not walk the streets "disguised" as civilians. Nor did the Gestapo shoot people in the open street. That was more likely to be the SS. Right, the guys with the skull and the two "Blitz-S" on their uniform.
