I literally see it at my job. I work for a bank and people are talking about increasing overdraft fee pricing. There's no consideration about the actual person who's affected. The conversation is always just "we'll make $X profit with these changes!"

It's just completely depersonalized and dehumanized. That's the whole damn problem with capitalism.

Pharma was actually the worst, I found. People would make the most insane recommendations and I'd push back because they were so awful for the consumer. Like, I understand needing to make money, but there's gotta be a line.

There's actually way more empathy in banking, believe it or not. It's still imperfect, but people at least actually talk about the customer here as if they matter.
