Finally got around to reading this one and, it's not great. Mostly it's frustrating to see how the muddled logic and motivated reasoning of Yoshua Bengio & co make it hard for journalists to get and convey a clear understanding.

it might be able to cook up that idea, but only if some terrorist organization (or government whatever which is which these days) manages to get past all restrictions and gets an AI agent that (of course) doesn't "understand" it's all theoretical and not part of an apocalyptic novel, to combine all previous data. AIs don't think and don't see themselves as an entity. It's just programming and algorithms. I really don't understand why this is so hard for people to get. Jfc.
