As much as I like using @GrapheneOS, their social media team are *very* thin-skinned.
Because I liked this comment, I have been "suspended indefinitely" from their discussion forum.
This is a repeated pattern with #GrapheneOS - even the most minor criticism is met with undeserved scorn.
Check out all their social media replies and weirdly hostile responses to anything less than fawning praise.
I can't understand where their victim complex comes from.

@Edent Tuta made a problematic post with many inaccuracies which has now been heavily edited to address many of those. Our replies were made in a different context but are being presented as if they were replies to the current post on their website.
We think encrypted email services including but not limited to Tuta have serious privacy and security issues. Tuta addresses some of these issues not addressed elsewhere but also has issues of their own. That was not the focus of our responses.

OK. But do you see how you're alienating many passionate members of your own community?As far as I can see, you've sent over a hundred posts in the last 24 hours. Nearly all of them arguing with people.
I get that you feel the need to defend yourselves - but, is that the impression you want people to have of the project?

It's interesting how much of a difference the interface (client) for some service can make.
Before discovering @MonaApp I rarely used Mastodon just because I hated its web UI. These days I often use Mastodon a bit more than Bluesky mostly because I like desktop apps a bit more than pinned browser windows (or whatever).
Same with some IM apps - I used FB's Messenger a lot (don't judge me too hard, it's super popular in Bulgaria) until they killed its desktop app recently. But I'm old-school and prefer to do my typing on a real keyboard instead of a touch screen.

io son qui sul fediverso da qualche annetto in più, l'ho visto ai tempi in cui sul fediverso si poteva parlare solo di due argomenti: fediverso e software libero, e ho anche visto xmpp¹ ai tempi del grande embrace, extend, extinguish² di google, e non credo che un'esodo di massa dai social proprietari al fediverso, fatto adattando il fediverso ai gusti delle masse, servirebbe a togliere potere alle grandi aziende tecnologiche.
semplicemente le grandi aziende entrerebbero nel fediverso, portando tutti i meccanismi tossici dei social commerciali: meta si è già portata avanti per farlo con threads. E se le masse sono arrivate sul fediverso perché era simile ai vecchi social, non hanno nessun motivo per non stare ad esempio su threads, che è più grosso, più familiare come funzionamento e quindi sicuramente migliore. Poi sicuramente rimarrà la nicchia degli irriducibili che sta su server che bloccano la federazione con i server aziendali, ma credo che a quel punto sarebbe ancora più piccola del fediverso attuale, e anziché migliorare si sarebbe tornati indietro.
Non dico che si debba richiedere il test d'ingresso per entrare sul fediverso, che per potersi iscrivere si debba dimostrare di essere capaci di uscire da vi³, anzi, più ostacoli *tecnici* si riescono a superare meglio è (eventualmente anche con soluzioni sociali), ma credo che sia giusto che il fediverso sia per chi compie la scelta consapevole di esserci.
Poi più persone si riescono a convincere a compiere quella scelta consapevole meglio è, ma è un lavoro di convincimento e di educazione dal basso che difficilmente può raggiungere le dimensioni di un esodo in tempi rapidi (sarei felicissima di venire smentita!)
¹ per chi non lo conoscesse, sistema di chat federata anche noto come jabber. provatelo, merita :)
² spoiler: hanno fatto dei gran danni, ma non ce l'hanno fatta
